Words and Light

Gibbous Air

She slipped down

Into her satin bed

The moon sinking into

Her lover’s ocean

He took a bite of her

That morning

A partial eclipse

Of her gibbous Air

Borrowed his light back

With the help of earth

And The Earth

In return

Sent blessings of calm

Ripples of still air

Delight

That warm kind of texture

That only tropical paradises

Know

That warm kind of texture

They call

The after-glow

The moon dipped her head

In sweet reverence

An appreciation

Of his patience
